The MA500 is a lightweight and easy-to-use Alternating Pressure Mattress System with Low Air Loss, designed to help prevent and treat pressure injuries. The system utilizes pressure redistribution to relieve pressure on skin surfaces and bony prominences, with the air cells on the mattress slowly inflating and deflating under the user at a predetermined or adjustable cycle time.
Intended for individuals with a low-to-medium risk of pressure sores or stages I-III, the MA500 alternating pressure system features a cell-in-cell design that helps prevent bottoming out in the event of a power failure, ensuring patient safety. The natural heel slope is designed to decrease pressure in the vulnerable heel area, providing therapeutic technology.
The clinical features of the MA500 include a two-cell cycle mattress, where the alternating function inflates and deflates cells in a 2:1 cycle, offering effective pressure redistribution. The highly vapor-permeable and oversized pliable quilted nylon top cover is designed to provide low shear, friction, and moisture protection, while the soft nylon urethane-backed cells are designed to allow for easy cleaning by caregivers.
